Grow Food & Herbs

Have you ever picked a fruit or vegetable form a tree or plant and eaten it right there in the garden? Did you notice how much better it tasted than the ones you get at the grocery store? There are so many reasons for that. Foods from the grocery store are often grown indoors in controlled environments, and picked early before they are fully ripe. Then by they time they travel from the factory farm to the grocery store, they are several days to weeks old, losing their flavor and decreasing in nutritional value. Then, some producers coat their products in preservatives to keep them from spoiling. Some even inject dies or flavorings into their fruit.

When you grow your own food, you control the quality of it. Plus, there are so many benefits to growing your own garden. It is great exercise and stress relief. It connects you to nature, the cycles of life, promotes patience and gives you time in the great outdoors breathing in the fresh air. Growing your own food gives you a great sense of accomplishment, and gets your creative juices going. During the Covid-19 pandemic, some clients asked me to help them with growing gardens. For some, I produced seedlings and gave them guidance and coaching. For others who had mobility difficulties, I did much of the heavy work for them, and got them involved in the maintenance. Some of the types of gardens I create or help create are listed below:

Vegetable Gardens: Vegetable gardens can be planted in the ground or raised beds. I help you decide what you want to grow. We take into consideration your space available, the foods you enjoy and the amount of involvement that you want to have.
Herb Gardens: We'll work together to figure out what herbs you want to grow based on your likes and health needs, and I'll give you guidance on preserving them and using them in teas and cooking.
Container Gardens: Container gardens can be a great way to get started as a gardener. They are also great options for small spaces, balconies and small yards.
Meditation Gardens: Are a great place to retreat from the stress of the world. It is a place that can bring a sense of peace, and can boost your energy and mood.
